Director
Sophia Bookallil
Sophia is a well respected family law practitioner with over two decades of experience in the legal field.
Sophia was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 2002. Commencing her career in general law, and working on cases in the family law field, Sophia quickly realised that she wanted to make family law her specialisation. In 2007, Sophia moved to Queensland to take up a role that would enable her to pursue this specialisation and interest. Since then, she has worked on an extensive range of projects, covering all aspects of family law, including complex property settlement and parenting matters.

A firm believer in sharing her knowledge and experience to help others, Sophia volunteers at a number of charities – including the Caxton Legal Centre, Women’s Legal Service, LGBTI and the National Breast Cancer Foundation – providing advice and support on a range of family law matters.
Sophia is a registered member of the Family Law Practitioners Association, Family Law Section and the Queensland Law Society.
Senior Associate
Claire Champney
Claire holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Queensland and was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2017.
As a solicitor at the firm, Claire practices in family law including property settlement and parenting matters and has experience in domestic and family violence matters representing both applicants and respondents in protection order proceedings. Claire also provides estate planning and administration advice. Claire regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Magistrates Court of Queensland.
Claire has an enthusiasm for family law and is committed to providing clients with compassion and support while striving to achieve preferred outcomes for our clients.
Claire is a registered member of the Family Law Practitioners Association, Family Law Section and the Queensland Law Society.
Solicitor
Stephanie Jung
Stephanie is a family lawyer with an international background and experience across a diverse range of financial and parenting matters. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Bond University and is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
Stephanie practices exclusively in family law, offering guidance and legal representation in areas including divorce proceedings, property settlements, parenting arrangements involving high risk matters, as well as spousal maintenance and Financial Agreements.
Stephanie is one of the few Korean speaking family lawyers in the region, allowing her to provide culturally sensitive and tailored legal support to migrant families, ensuring a clear understanding of the unique challenges they may face. Stephanie is committed to helping clients navigate complex family law matters with care and professionalism, offering advice that is both compassionate and practical, as well as commercially astute.
Stephanie is a registered member of the Family Law Practitioners Association, Asian Australian Lawyers Association, and the Queensland Law Society.

Candice’s role as accounts clerk is fundamental to the seamless operation of Bookallil family Law. Candice is a long standing valued member of our team and is always willing to help our valued clients with any queries.

Georgia assists our Director, Sophia Bookallil and Associate, Claire Champney with all legal and administrative work. Georgia currently works part time Wednesdays and Thursdays.
